Putting on a high quality show in a theatre entails many hours of work both onstage and off. Each production offers the opportunity for anywhere from 25-50 volunteer positions. What ever your interest in theatre arts we have something that will fit the bill!  Volunteering your time is a great way to get involved in community activities and to make new friends, not to mention getting a free ticket to the show! Some regularly needed volunteer positions are listed below.

This e-mail address is being protected from spambots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

Box Office: Assist with ticket sales & will-call window at performances.  Should be good with computers.

Concessions: Serve beverages and snacks to theatre patrons.  Must be able to handle cash and work quickly as well as assist in clean up and restocking of bar/concessions area.

Costumes/Wardrobe: Work with the Costume Designer building new and altering existing costumes. You do not need to know how to sew.  Help may be needed in the form of working wardrobe duties backstage during a production.

Light and Sound: Work with the Lighting/Sound Designer hanging lights, cutting gels and programming and/or running the light and sound boards.

Running Crew: Prepare the stage prior to the show.  Move scenery between scenes and acts.

Set Construction: Work with the Technical Director, building/rigging sets and loading them onto the stage. Knowledge of power tools, set construction or carpentry is helpful but not necessary.

Set Painting and Props: The Set Designer uses volunteers to paint scenery and set pieces and to gather and build props. Painting tasks range from base coating to detail work. Props gathering involves finding items in storage as well as shopping.

Stage Manager/Asst. S.M.: Oversee rehearsals, call the show, uphold the director's vision for the production after opening. The Stage Management position is a substantial time commitment and the right candidate will have excellent organizational skills as well as being able to lead a group of actors.

Ushers: Tear tickets, hand out programs and assist with seating our patrons.
